Launch of the Oxford Handbook on Atrocity Crimes

On 9 February at 18.00 CET we will launch the Oxford Handbook on Atrocity Crimes (Oxford UP, 2022), edited by Barbora Holá, Hollie Nyseth Nzitatira, and Maartje Weerdesteijn.

This is the first comprehensive handbook on atrocity crimes, i.e. war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. It brings together research from across the social sciences and humanities to chart and further develop the evolving field of atrocity crimes studies. Unique in its thematic focus  as well as in its comprehensive scope, the book covers the etiology, the actors involved, the harm caused, the reactions to atrocity crimes, and in-depth analyses of understudied situations of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

The launch will include presentations by the editors and by Erin Jessee, Myriam Denov, and Alette Smeulers.

This event will take place online, on Zoom. Please register via this link:
